Cyclist hit by truck on Derby St and Gladstone Rd, Allenstown

Police are investigating after a cyclist in his 70s was struck by a truck, which left the scene, on Saturday morning.

Police are investigating after a cyclist in his 70s was struck by a truck, which left the scene, in Rockhampton on Saturday morning.

Emergency services responded to the incident at the intersection of Derby St and Gladstone Rd, Allenstown, at 7.15am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 70s was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition with shoulder and back pain.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the cyclist had been hit by a truck, which blocked the northbound lane on Gladstone Rd.

She said the truck had left the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
