Man charged over alleged Rockhampton shooting
A young man was arrested by police halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast after he allegedly shot at a man known to him in Central Queensland.

A 23-year-old man was arrested by police and is set to appear in court today after he allegedly shot at a man known to him in Rockhampton.
Police allege the 23-year-old entered a Cambridge St venue about 7pm on May 11 before leaving shortly after and returning to his white Toyota Hilux.
According to police, a 36-year-old Rockhampton man exited the venue 15 minutes later and walked across the road, when the alleged shooter followed in his vehicle.
The man is accused of firing a single short from a firearm towards the older man.
The 36-year-old man was uninjured, and a nearby parked car was allegedly damaged by a projectile.
The 23-year-old man then fled in the Hilux.
Police allege the men were known to each other.
Detectives from the Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged him following the alleged incident.
The 23-year-old Rockhampton man was arrested in Alberton, halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, on May 17 and charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of weapons category D/H/R – short firearm in public, authority required to possess explosives, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, and seven counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, May 19.
