Mackay, Whitsunday, Isaac property prices revealed

Property owners in Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday have been laughing all the way to the bank in the past 12 months with some average price rises topping 25%. Find out where the biggest jumps have been.

Homeowners across Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac have enjoyed a fruitful 12 months, despite uncertainly about how the Covid pandemic would impact house prices nationwide.

Almost all of the regions’ suburbs increased in median values since December 2020, but there were some across Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday that dropped in price.

Seaforth’s median price had the biggest jump in the Mackay region, with house prices now 27.1 per cent more expensive than in December 2020.

The median price for a house in Seaforth is $374,945 as of December 2021.

Dysart was the Isaac region’s biggest mover with a jump of 20.1 per cent, meaning houses in the suburb had a median price of $148,819.

While property prices only had a modest 9.9 per cent increase in Richmond, the Mackay suburb had the highest median value in Mackay, Isaac or Whitsunday of $640,886.

Glenella also has one of the region’s highest price points for houses, with the median property price hitting $529,845.

Even Collinsville properties, the cheapest house prices in the region, have experienced a 19.9 per cent increase in value over the past 12 months. The average house now costs $119,489.

Airlie Beach was one of Whitsunday’s biggest movers, with a 14.3 per cent increase in the median property value over the past year.

Bowen also had a massive hike, with house prices increasing 15.1 per cent since December 2020.

But Bowen’s apartment prices dropped 4 per cent in the past 12 months, with a median price of $255,466.

Marian carries the title of Pioneer Valley’s most expensive suburb, with a 13.8 per cent increase resulting in a $474,498 median house price.
