Charges alleging a young man and woman kidnapped a teen boy at knifepoint south of Mackay have been dropped.
Storm Michael Spurling, 19 and Kate Elizabeth Hill, 18, were arrested in February this year and charged with deprivation of liberty.
Police alleged they pair forced a 14-year-old boy into Ms Hill’s car at knifepoint in the Bakers Creek area before driving to Slade Point, dropping him off near a Night Owl convenience store about 10.30pm on February 12.
Mr Spurling was also charged with common assault in relation to the allegation a knife was used. He always denied using a knife to force the teen into the vehicle.
The pair intended to plead not guilty to the charges and the case was listed for hearing in Mackay Magistrates Court later this month.
However no evidence was offered and the charges were dropped during a pre-recording for the teen boy on Tuesday.
Mr Spurling is still facing numerous charges including dangerous driving which have been adjourned to a date later this month.
Hill pleaded guilty to two other charges including possessing tainted property and breaching probation.
She was admonished for the breach and placed on a different 12-month probation order. A conviction was not recorded.
