19-year-old man critical after being hit by car at Mackay

A 19-year-old man has been flown to hospital with a life-threatening head injury after being hit by a car in Qld overnight.

A 19-year-old man is fighting for life after being hit by a car at Mackay overnight.

According to the Queensland Police Service he was struck by a Toyota Camry at the forner of Sydney and Victoria Streets about 10.40pm Friday.

Queensland Ambulance Service said he suffered a significant potentially life threatening head injury.

He was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition before being flown to the Townsville University Hospital for further treatment.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.

The crash was one of three notable emergency call-outs in the wider region overnight.

Crews were called to single-vehicle crash on the Marlborough Sarina Rd, Sarina Range, about 1.26am.

A man with back pain was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.

Earlier, at Moranbah, a primary-school-aged girl suffered an arm injury after a fall from a bike on Mills Avenue about 6.45pm.

She was taken to Moranbah hospital in a stable condition.
