A man has fronted court accused of stabbing another man at an apartment complex west of Brisbane yesterday, as new details of his alleged victim’s condition have emerged.

A man has fronted court accused of stabbing another man at an apartment complex west of Brisbane yesterday.
Emergency crews attended a North Booval apartment complex on Jacaranda Street about 1.30pm yesterday, September 20, following reports of an altercation.
Booval man Jake Michael Masteika, 29, was found with a stab wound and transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The Queensland Times understands Mr Masteika is currently in stable condition at the hospital.
North Booval man Leigh Donald Power, 30, was charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
The charge specifies that Mr Power, with intent to do some grievous bodily harm to Mr Masteika, had unlawfully wounded him.
Mr Power‘s matter was briefly mentioned in Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on September 21, 2023.
He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody for a committal mention on September 29.
His appearance will not be required on that date.
