Ipswich retailer Luxery N Co. tripled its size in a year after joining the Ipswich Show.
This year, founder Bianca Loose returned with show exclusive drinkwares and accessories with trendy cartoons and patterns on.
“I started my business in 2022, and I mainly run online,” Ms Loose said.
She first joined the show last year, but her business has grown rapidly in just a year.
“Last year, my business wasn’t really much like I only had a following of 3000 (on social media), and now I’ve got 15000,” she said.
“It’s really busy just being up there online. Sometimes I don’t have time to go (to the show), but we’re local to the show. It’s a little bit easier.”
The 151st Ipswich Show kicked off on Friday, with 55 per cent of the 149 sites booked were locally based businesses or community groups.
Division 4 councillor David Cullen was spotted enjoying a cup of ice cream from local dessert restaurant Ungermann Brothers.
Cr Cullen said he loved it as it was made by locals.
Artist Steve Lowe returned to the show to sell hand-painted caps after years.
“They’ve changed the grounds a lot since I came here. There was only one pavilion here,” he said.
But he said his business was a bit tight in the morning of the first show day but hoped the fireworks in the evening would bring crowds in.
Gold Coast-based clothing outlet Ringers Western employee Darren Petrie said their sales were going well thanks to a location next to the main gate.
“A lot of people come in and have a look around and they come back when they’re on the way out,” Mr Petrie said.
This year’s show runs for three days, ending on Sunday.
