The 150th Ipswich Show was a hit.

People came from far and wide to experience the historic 150th year of the Ipswich Show on the weekend.

First held on May 13, 1873 at its old site in Churchill, facing the Bremer River, Ipswich’s favourite annual event moved to its present site on Warwick Rd four years later.

The cold weather did not deter show-goers, with many attendees calling it the best yet.

Sideshow Alley, main arena hot wheels entertainment, fireworks and farm animals were all there, along with a few new attractions.

Opening day on Friday was marked by visits from Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Mayor Teresa Harding.

Ms Palaszczuk said she attended the show every year when she was in high school and spoke fondly of the memories.
