Hundreds of Gympie punters have donned their finest dresses, fascinators, and suits to celebrate the “race that stops the nation” in style across the region.

Venues across Gympie played host to guests willing to make a wager on which of the Melbourne Cup’s 24-strong field would cross the line first, with the losers left to wait for another year.
