A 41-year-old Gympie business owner accused of raping his partner five times, including anal rape, and choking her in the early hours of Sunday, June 13, has been remanded in custody to the Gympie Magistrates Court.
The alleged victim was an international student in Australia on a student visa.
The man was arrested on Sunday and appeared in the Gympie Magistrates Court in handcuffs and prison greens on Monday morning under police guard.
His face remained expressionless as he fronted the court.
He will reappear in the Gympie Magistrates Court on August 2.
