Gympie stabbing: Man taken in charged after alleged stabbing

Police are have charged a man for an alleged stabbing after early morning drama at a Gympie home.

A 25-year-old man was taken to Gympie Hospital following an alleged stabbing early on Saturday morning.

Paramedics were called to a residence in the quiet residential area at 4.30am where the man had sustained a laceration to his hand.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Police Service said officers were called to the Crestwood Court property at 4.30am.

Another spokesman from Queensland Police said a 22-year-old Gympie man had been charged with common assault and wounding.

He was refused bail and was remanded in custody.

The man is expected to appear before the Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday, September 6.
