Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the crash at the Goomboorian Travel Stop service station, just north of the Ross Rd intersection, shortly before 2.20pm on September 18, 2024.
Paramedics treated the injured youth, an 18-year-old from Wanora, outside the car park of the service station before loading him on to a waiting rescue helicopter about 3.40pm.
The man suffered a serious leg injury in the crash, but it was not life-threatening.

On Thursday, police said initial investigations indicated officers tried to intercept the motorbike when it was caught speeding on Tin Can Bay Rd about 2.10pm.
“The rider failed to stop and continued to travel at excessive speed,” police said.
“A short time later the rider crashed into a turning 4WD.”
Witnesses, who did not want to be named, said on Wednesday all they heard was a “bang” at the time of the crash.
The driver of the 4WD was not physically harmed and investigations are ongoing.
