Gympie Domino’s Pizza crowned busiest store in Qld

Gympie may be the town that saved Queensland, but with 4500 Domino’s pizzas eaten every week, needing 450kg of cheese, it is now has another title to its name.

Pizza is in hot demand in Gympie, and its Domino’s store on the Bruce Highway was recently crowned the busiest one in Queensland at the company’s annual roadshow.

The Gympie franchise delivered more than 4500 fresh pizzas a week, and in doing so used more than 450kg of cheese each week, the equivalent weight of an average-sized saltwater crocodile, according to a statement released by Domino’s.

It said the team has raised more than $3000 for local causes and donated more than 1100 free pizzas to local organisations and sports clubs through Domino’s Feed the Knead program.

Domino’s Gympie franchise partner Bradley McCartin said the opportunity to support the community was humbling.

“While we’re incredibly proud to be recognised as the busiest store in Queensland, our greatest joy comes from the opportunity to make a difference in our community,” Mr McCartin said in the release.

“As a local business owner, giving back to our community is our top priority, and reflecting on our team’s ongoing efforts, we feel privileged to actively make a difference by supporting local causes and individuals in need.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, so there is nothing more fulfilling than knowing we are making a positive impact.

“Whether it’s ensuring their hot and fresh pizza is delivered to them safely and quickly, or simply brightening their day with a friendly smile.

“We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the local pizza enthusiasts who have stood by our business and our fundraising initiatives over the years. We can’t wait to continue delivering your piping hot pizzas for many years to come.”
