Century 21 property agent Aleisha Dodt said on Tuesday, January 10 the former Gympie Indoor Sports Centre had changed hands for $610,000 in December, 2022.

The new owners of the building, a young Gympie couple, said they were “interested in giving the place a facelift”.
The building now houses AGM Disability Support Services Gympie and the new owners intend to keep the current tenants.
“It’s an important part of the community to have that support,” they said.
The couple said they will ask the current tenants for their thoughts on how to improve the property.
The building has been battered by repeat flood events needs a little bit of love, time and effort to restore it to “its former glory,” the new owners said.
“It would be a shame to let the building go to waste.”
Ms Dodt had the property listed since May 26, 2021 and she said the contract went unconditional on Christmas eve.
The was used as an indoor sports centre about 25 years ago for various sports, including soccer, cricket, volleyball and netball, and was then occupied by Brisbane Electrical for several years.
It was finally sold after 72 inquires and 38 inspections.
The sell was a “nostalgic” experience for Ms Dodt, who played netball in the building when she was growing up.
“It was a good one to sell,” she said.
“It feels wonderful.”
Gympie had been affected by three floods since the building went on the market, with water almost reaching the awning at the front of the centre, Ms Dodt said.
The building mainly consisted of steel and brick framing and needed minor fixing to the electrical system and plaster boards after the floods.
“All in all, it withstood pretty well,” she said.
Ms Dodt said the former sports centre was “never really a stressful sell”.
“You know the right buyer will come along eventually.”
