Fire guts rural Corella home in early morning blaze

Multiple firefighters were successful in saving a rural property from a devastating early morning blaze.

A Corella resident has had a lucky escape after their house was gutted in an early morning blaze despite rainfall of up to 25mm across the area.

Emergency crews were called to the rural property at Albrecht Rd at 3.30am following reports the house had caught fire.

When fire crews arrived at the house at 4.10am it was already ablaze.

It collapsed 15 minutes later.

A nearby shed had also caught fire.

A QFES spokesman said the occupant was at the scene as crews battled the blaze.

By 7am the fire had been contained to the ruined home which was smouldering; firefighters left the scene by 7.20am.

Authorities were unable to make any comment on what may have started the blaze.
