The countdown is on to the grand opening of Gympie’s new Guzman y Gomez Mexican restaurant, and there are still some job openings on its books.
A business spokesman revealed the doors of the newly built drive-through restaurant, opposite the Gympie Central Shopping centre, will be thrown open at 7am on Thursday, June 13.
The event will be celebrated by the chain’s traditional $5 burritos and bowls and free coffee until closing time at 10pm.
This offer is only available at the restaurant, not online.
Job openings are still on offer at the restaurant, too.
The company’s website is advertising for a casual “cooks and crew”.
Its online advertisement says the position comes with flexible rosters, heavily discounted deals for its food, and “an uncapped referral program” which pays up to $200 for every successful referral of new staff.
The opening of the Gympie outlet is hot on the heels of the launch of the chain’s first restaurant at Maryborough, about 80km north, on Tuesday April 9.
Leading the Gympie chain is manager Zach Mehew, who is now heading up his fourth outlet following stints at the chain’s North Ipswich, Cairns and Cleveland stores.
