A Central Queensland father who committed a string of crimes has been given parole eligibility after spending four months in pre-sentence custody.
Dwayne Lawrence Lingwoodock, 39, appeared in custody in Gladstone Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to 11 offences including obstructing police, wilful damage, failing to appear in court, breaching bail, and three counts of unlicensed driving.
The court heard Lingwoodock was busted driving while SPER suspended on January 12, February 25 and February 28.
The respective police intercepts all happened in Gladstone - the first two on the Dawson Highway and the third on Auckland Street.
During the second intercept, police placed Lingwoodock under arrest but he walked towards a house and refused to stop.
When police caught up with him, Lingwoodock refused to put his hands behind his back and had to be forcibly restrained.
Then in March, Lingwoodock threw a torch at a window of a woman’s residence, causing it to break.
Lingwoodock had a seven-page criminal history and a one-page traffic history which included two previous unlicensed driving convictions.
Solicitor Bianca Wieland made written submissions which were read by Magistrate Mary Buchanan.
The court heard that Lingwoodock was a father who had previously worked as a ranger.
On July 10, Ms Buchanan sentenced Lingwoodock to six months’ jail, declared 126 days’ pre-sentence custody as time already served, and fixed immediate parole eligibility.
Lingwoodock was also fined $600 and disqualified from driving for two months.
Convictions were recorded.
