A man who made an utterly disgusting comment to Gladstone police and hospital staff, has faced court.
Alexander William Clarke, 25, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to charges including public nuisance and serious assault of police.
The court heard that on December 25, police were called to an incident at Gladstone.
There, Clarke was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest.
Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach said Clarke refused to comply with police directions after being asked to stand up and walk to a police vehicle.
Instead, he kicked a police officer in the chest and he was then physically restrained and placed in handcuffs, Ms Leach said.
She said Clarke then spat at one of the officers.
He was taken to the police watchhouse before an ambulance took him to Gladstone Hospital under police guard.
Ms Leach said while Clarke was at the hospital, he started screaming, swearing and yelling abusive comments at police and medical staff.
One of the things he said was: “I’ll f*** you in the arsehole.”
He called one person “a c**t” and told another to “f*** off.”
Ms Leach said Clarke was told to stop his disorderly behaviour at the hospital but he refused and continued yelling.
Clarke had a two-page criminal history which included previous convictions for public nuisance and assault police.
Solicitor Rio Ramos said Clarke, a dad who worked full-time as a ranger, did not remember much about what happened on the night of his offending as he had been drinking.
Ms Ramos said Clarke had not inflicted any serious injuries on police.
“He’s been off alcohol for seven months - unfortunately on the night of this offence he again drank,” Ms Ramos said.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan placed Clarke on 15 months’ probation, fined him $500, and ordered he pay $500 compensation to the assaulted police officer.
Convictions were recorded.
