Emergency crews respond to reports of ute into a lake in Laidley

Police divers joined a retrieval mission after a stolen ute was bumped in a lagoon in the Lockyer Valley.

Police divers joined a retrieval mission after a stolen ute was found submerged in the Narda Lagoon at Laidley in the Lockyer Valley.

Emergency services responded to reports of a ute seen going into a lake on Lowe St at 5.37am on Sunday.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the dive squad attended the scene at 9.50am and confirmed that no one was in the ute.

The vehicle was stolen from a Drayton address overnight.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said three crews attended, as well as a swift water rescue team.

She said the service had left the scene in the hands of police about 7.20am.

Investigations into the incident, as well as locating the occupants of the vehicle, are ongoing.
