Man flown to Brisbane hospital after falling from a ladder in the Lockyer Valley

A man was flown to a Brisbane hospital with a critical head injury after falling from a ladder in South East Queensland. UPDATE HERE.

A man has suffered a nasty head injury after falling from a ladder at a private property in the Lockyer Valley.

It’s understood the man in his 40s had been building a carport when he fell from a ladder.

Due to the nature of his injuries, a LifeFlight rescue helicopter was called in at 7.25am to transport the man to hospital.

A LifeFlight spokesman said Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were first on scene and provided initial treatment for a head injury.

Paramedics transported the man to the Gatton Showgrounds where the LifeFlight helicopter had landed and he was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

A Metro South Health spokeswoman said the man was in a critical condition, yet was stable on the ward.
