The lives of a Lockyer Valley family has forever been changed after a whopping $1.25m win over the weekend.

A Plainland mother who was one in 16 Division One winners from the recent Saturday Gold Lotto draw said her mother was the special person to deliver the good news.

“We’ve been playing our special numbers for a long time now, and my mother knows what they are. So when she saw the draw results, she knew straight away I’d won,” she said.

“It’s absolutely incredible. It’s going to change my family’s life.”

The million-dollar win would enable the family to make more special memories together, with the mother claiming she could now pay off all debt and prepare for the future with her children.

“We’ve always worked so hard to provide for our family. That’s the best gift we could receive,” she said.

“It’s about time we had some luck.”

The winning entry was purchased at the newsXpress Plainland store, with owner Shane McCauley over the moon by the recent win.

“Our last win was in 2015, so it feels great to get the monkey off our back,” he said.

“We all just hope it’s gone to someone who is going to do something great with it and we wish them all the best for the future.”

The winning numbers were 4, 21, 7, 20, 22 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 16 and 17.

The $1.25m win comes just a week after an Esk woman took home $5.2m from a Saturday Gold Lotto win.
