Lockyer Valley vintage car enthusiast drives home major Lotto win using beloved car model numbers

A retiree had a roaring start to the week, receiving the life-changing phone call thousands of Australians hope for each week.
The Lockyer Valley man’s love of vintage cars has made him $1m wealthier after taking home one of two division one Weekday Windfall draws.
South East Queensland is fast becoming the Lotto capital with several major lottery wins in the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Somerset region with more than $29.47m in prize money won.
The man couldn’t believe his ears when he was delivered the incredible news on Monday, telling a The Lott representative the money would help facilitate his retirement and allow him to finish some overdue repairs on his cars.
“I’m retired, so this will really help me out,” he exclaimed.
“You wouldn’t believe it. Only last week, something in my house completely broke, and I was wondering how I would fix it.
“You’ve made my day – actually, you’ve made more than my day. You’ve made my life.”
The man said he’s been playing the same numbers for years and uses the year model of his cars when selecting numbers.
“It doesn’t feel real. I’m pretty shocked; overwhelmed,” he said.
“This is amazing. Can you repeat how much I’ve won? I want to hear it again!
“This is a phone call I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
