Steph Behrendt named Fraser Coast best cake decorator for 2023
A Maryborough woman whose love for baking has changed her life has been named the Fraser Coast’s best cake decorator for 2023.

A passionate cake decorator who met her now husband in a bakery has been named the Fraser Coast’s best for 2023.
The Fraser Coast Chronicle reader poll revealed Steph Behrendt was the Fraser Coast‘s best cake decorator, out of hundreds of nominations.
With a family-owned business Pastry Creations Bakery, Mrs Behrendt dominated the polls with 38 per cent of the votes, 27 per cent more than runner-up Art of Sugar.
To Mrs Behrendt to win the award “means the world” to her and husband Brodie and the feeling they are bringing joy to their community is “priceless”.

The couple fell in love in a bakery and have been married for three years.
The love they have for each other and cakes is evident in the passion they put into their business.
“What started as a hobby five years ago when we ran a home baking business, has evolved to us operating a full time business and we are so grateful for the support and love we receive from our customers,” they said.

“We want people to walk into our shop and feel welcome and able to enjoy the food we work so hard to produce every day”.
From self-admittedly “difficult beginnings” the business has become a thriving success and there are long term plans to expand their Gympie Rd shopfront in Tinana.
