A Kawungan woman who assaulted a police officer at Hervey Bay Police Station while intoxicated has been fined $500.
Tahlia Christie Cunningham, 21, pleaded guilty to the assault of a senior constable when she faced Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
The court heard at 7.50pm on August 6, Cunningham was at the station for an unrelated matter.
Around this time, she was asked to stop leaning over a police car by a senior constable.
She refused to do that and was forcefully moved by another officer, the court heard.
Her partner in response got into a physical altercation with the officer who had moved her away from the car, and was arrested for obstruction.
The court heard that during his arrest the senior constable tried to restrain Cunningham to stop her interfering, when she was “donkey kicked” in the left leg and knocked to the ground.
