More details have emerged after a man was found dead in a car in Maryborough.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Police Service confirmed there had been a sudden death in John St.

The death was believed to be non-suspicious, a police spokeswoman said.

She said a post-mortem would be done to determine the exact cause of death.

A witness to the scene, about 1.30pm today, said several officers were at the scene along with a car with a sheet over it.

Before that, two ambulances were at the scene and paramedics were seen attending to the man prior to the arrival of police, a neighbouring couple said.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the non-suspicious death of a man in Maryborough today,” the police spokeswoman said.
