Police are at the scene of an incident in Maryborough after a body was found in a car.

Police have converged in a suburban street in Maryborough where it is believed a body has been found in a car.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Police Service confirmed there had been a sudden death in John St and it was believed to be a possible suicide.

A witness to the scene, about 1.30pm today, said several officers were at the scene along with a car with a sheet over it.
