The case against a man accused of murdering his former partner at her Owanyilla home is currently suspended, a court has heard.
Daniel Noel Holm, 44, had his charge briefly mentioned in Maryborough Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Lawyer Warren Hunter said he was appearing as a town agent for Legal Aid Queensland.
He said the application on Tuesday was to adjourn to a date in the new year, based on the fact the proceedings remained suspended pending a report from the chief psychiatrist.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Sonia Edwards said the chief psychiatrist had disclosure material from the police to prepare a report.
She said Legal Aid Queensland was providing a drive card back to prosecutions to add more material.
Police allege Mr Holm killed Alana Martin, a much-loved mum of four, in January this year.
Mr Holm was charged after he attended the Maryborough Police Station about 5.30pm on January 28.
After that, police went to the home at Owanyilla on Old Gympie Road and found the 30-year-old Maryborough woman dead inside.
Magistrate John Milburn adjourned the case until February 18, with Mr Holm to be remanded in custody and his appearance excused at the next mention.
