The wheels of justice continue to move slowly in the case against a teenage girl who allegedly killed a man at a Hervey Bay caravan park in August, 2024.
The 14-year-old was charged with the murder of Stuart Wallace-Cuneo, 24, after she allegedly stabbed him in his back at the Big4 Point Vernon Holiday Park on Saturday, August 10.
Police will allege the teen was not acting in self-defence when the stabbing was committed.
The matter was due for a committal hearing on Wednesday morning, but was ultimately adjourned due to the defence not receiving multiple documents from the prosecution.
Deborah Kilroy of Kilroy Callaghan Lawyers appeared in front of Magistrate Trinity McGarvie via telephone and requested an adjournment to gain copies of missing witness statements, the autopsy, and crime scene photographs.
Ms McGarvie adjourned the matter to February 19 for a further committal mention, with the teenager’s appearance to be excused and remanded in custody, while Ms Kilroy will appear via telephone again.
