Five teens taken to hospital, one critical, after horror crash in Maryborough

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening chest injuries after a horror crash into a pole in Maryborough.

A teenage boy has been transported to hospital with potentially life-threatening chest injuries after a car crashed into a pole on Ann St in Maryborough about 6.55pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics transported five patients to hospital following the New Year’s Day crash.

In addition to the teen with serious injuries, a stable teenage boy was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital with minor facial injuries.

A stable teenage male was transported to Maryborough Hospital with minor chest injuries.

A stable adult teenage male was transported to Maryborough Hospital with no reported injuries.

A stable adult teenage female was also transported to Maryborough Hospital with no reported injuries.

A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service said investigations were underway regarding the cause of the crash.
