Investigators are yet to determine what caused a shed fire that killed a man at Pacific Haven – almost three months after the tragic event happened.
Emergency crews found the body of Damian Ramsay, 50, at his house after responding to a shed fire at Pacific Haven Drive on the Fraser Coast about 1.35am on February 18.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mr Ramsay’s death revealed that several power tools were stolen from a shed about 60m from his “donga” style accommodation between 2pm on February 17 and 1.35am on February 18.
Police in April released CCTV footage of a man they wanted for questioning in relation to the incident.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Harbison said at the time the cause of the fire remained unknown.
He said it was believed the tools were stolen anytime between 2pm on February 17 up to 1.30am on February 18 when the fire was reported.
He said the items included drills, socket sets and drop saws.
Det Snr Sgt Harbison asked anyone with information regarding the power tools to come forward.
He said police were yet to find out if the theft of the tools and the fire were connected.
“We’re naturally wanting to find that out,” he said.
“Anyone with information please come forward and explain to police where you came by the tools.”
A spokeswoman from the Queensland Police Service confirmed no arrests had been made in relation to the fire.
