Dalby man, Steven Ronald Mac Nellie’s assault charge has changed course

A man who police allege committed an assault that caused bodily harm to the victim could now face the charge in a higher court, after it was mentioned earlier this week.

A man who has been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm has had his matter mentioned in court for the first time.

Steven Ronald Mac Nellie who did not appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on July 28 originally had his matter scheduled for a sentence.

Defence lawyer Michael Bond said the matter was now taking a different course of action, and requested for it to be adjourned.

“It’s now heading for a trial to the district court,” Mr Bond said.

Magistrate Kyna Morice enlarged the man’s bail and ordered he appear in Dalby Magistrates Court for a mention on August 22.
