The Western Downs is in mourning after Dalby man Terry John Harper was killed in a motorbike crash at Kumbarilla last week.
The electrical and instrumentation supervisor was travelling along Kumbarilla Lane on Wednesday when tragedy struck.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle crash about 3.30pm, but the 59-year-old Dalby man could not be revived.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Queensland Police spokesman said initial investigations indicated Mr Harper failed to negotiate a bend on the rural road.
The crash comes as Queensland suffers through a terrible year of road fatalities, with the Western Downs being struck especially hard with tragedy.
On July 9 a head-on collision between two cars along the Warrego Highway led to the death of Tara woman Crystal Coffee, 24.
Another tragedy occurred on the Warrego Highway near Bowenville on June 18, when a car swerved onto the wrong side of the road colliding with a truck.
Five children lost their mother that day when Kogan mum Brooke Holder, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.
That same month two boys lost their mother, Monique Hall, after the Western Australian family packed up their belongings and set off to start a new life in Queensland.
Before the family reached their new home in Nanango, their car rolled and crashed into a tree on the Moonie Highway, killing Ms Hall.
