The duo met with year 6, 7 and 8 students teaching key rugby skills and imparting their wisdom after decades in the game.
Ms Russell said it was important to encourage the next generation of girls to get involved in sport.
“The women’s side of the game is the fastest growing globally and it’s great to have these girls come in and strive to be on the world stage,” she said.
“The growth has happened so that girls can be involved at all levels, it’s not just about the playing there is opportunity to coach, referee and even work in an administrative role.
“It is up to us now to keep pushing forward and pushing the case that we will also be involved in all levels of sport.”
Principal Emma Lowry said she hoped the visit would encourage more students to take up a sport.
“We are really proud of the contributions our girls have made in sport. The majority of them are involved in co-curricular activity with 90 per cent of our year 12s involved,” she said.
“We understand the importance of sport for their mental and physical wellbeing.
“For two rugby greats to come in here and inspire our girls is great, they a role models for what girls can achieve in sport.”
