Three Dalby PCYC Boxing Club athletes take home wins at Sunshine Coast Regional Championships
After three strong wins at the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships, Dalby’s boxers are now preparing for state titles.

Dalby PCYC Boxing Club have put on a clinic going three for three at the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships.
Boxers Beau Von Pein, Joshua Hassan and Judd Alberton all competed last Saturday coming away with three strong victories.
Dalby PCYC coach Andrew Alderton said Beau Von Pein was up first in a rematch against a tough opponent.
“Beau fought Saxon from Nerang PCYC at schoolboy 46kg which was a rematch and he did really well,” he said.
“It was a little bit harder this time because it was a rematch the pressure was on him to perform, Saxon came out harder than he did his first fight but Beau managed to adapt and get the job done.”
Next up was Joshua Hassan who competed in the junior 57kg division against Cairn’s Adrian Bianchi.
“He hadn't fought this guy before but he competed really well and won his belt, it was a different opponent for JJ (his opponent) was a little bit older than him but he took it on,” he said.
“He moves really well, he moved around and managed to avoid most of the punches and got the job done.”
Last up was Andrew’s son Judd who also won a championship belt taking on Daniel Sabelis.
“The guy was from Brisbane, he was an elusive fighter and wasn't engaging much,” he said.
“It was different for Judd because usually they will stand and bang with him but I think this guy knew he couldn't do that so he just stayed away.
“It was a good experience so he knew how to cut off the ring and drag them in.”
Mr Alberton said he was proud of how the team performed and they were now gearing up for next week’s state titles.
“I am exceptionally pleased, we always have things we can work on, we will work on head movement a little bit more footwork and cutting off the ring a bit more,” he said.
“The rest of it is just getting it prepared for next week getting their weight sorted and getting their mind and body prepped.”
