Multiple fire crews and water bombers battle Glenmorgan blaze

Western Downs fire crews have been working hard across to battle a large blaze in the Western Downs. DETAILS

Emergency crews have responded to a 1000 acre blaze in Glenmorgan, this afternoon.

Multiple fire units attended the blaze on Surat Development Rd about 12.30pm working to halt the fire which was moving towards Glenmorgan.

Queensland Fire Department issued a prepare to leave warning about 2.30pm, but this has now been revised to a watch and act.

A QFD spokeswoman said the fire had now been contained and there was a fire bomber on the scene helping to strengthen the fire borders.

They said the fire had also slowed with the current weather conditions.

No properties or people have been impacted in the blaze.

The cause of the fire currently remains unknown.
