Dalby residents to expect a cool week ahead with temperatures to plummet to two degrees

Dalby has experienced a cooler than average start to winter with temperatures expected to remain in the single digits for some time.

Dalby has experienced a frosty start to winter with temperatures plummeting to 4.7C at 5am this morning falling below the average June minimum of 5.4C.

At 2pm temperatures reached a high of 16C remaining below the June average since 1992 of 20.1C.

These temperatures are far colder than those experienced on the first Monday of June last year where the minimum temperature was 10.4 C and the maximum was 19.7C.

The average temperature for the first three days of June this year was 18.1C compared to last year’s first three day average of 24.5C.

The hottest June day recorded from the Dalby Airport came in 2016 when the mercury soared to 31.1C while the coolest was in 2009 when the temps hit -4.2C.

The cool mornings are expected to continue into the rest of the week with a minimum temperature forecast of 2C on Tuesday and Wednesday morning before hovering between 4C and 6C for the remainder of the week.

The maximum temperatures will then sit around 18C before peaking at 20C on Sunday.
