The close friend of a Dalby woman tragically killed after her car struck a stationary truck overnight has spoken about her cherished friendship and memories with the young woman.

Brooke Dalton was driving with a passenger at 1.25am Tuesday with early police investigations suggesting it lost control after a sharp turn and hit the back of a prime mover parked on Nicholson Street.

The young woman tragically died at the scene while the passenger, David Connolly was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a critical condition.

Close friend, Dana Eschbank said Brooke wasn’t just a friend, but a sister and the godmother of her and her partner’s son, Karter.

“Brooke and I first met when I found out I was pregnant with my son,” she said.

“When I went into labour Brooke was there and she waited in my room for me to get back from the birthing suite.”

Dana highlighted some of her favourite memories with Brooke who she described as “sweet” and “funny”.

“We’ve had some very good times, she’s always been there when I needed a friend to go do girly things with,” she said.

“I wanted her to have a sisterly feeling because she only has brothers.

“I love and miss you so much sis.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the Holden Commodore in the area at the time, or who may have relevant dashcam footage to contact them.

It comes after a horror few days in South East Queensland, in which three people died in separate crashes, with others left in critical conditions.

A man died in a vehicle fire at Beenleigh on Saturday morning, while a 48-year-old Tallebudgera woman died in a single-vehicle crash at 5pm on the same day.

And on Sunday, a 43-year-old Brisbane man died at the scene of a crash involving his motorcycle in Scarborough.
