Man, woman dead in separate crashes at Beenleigh, Gold Coast

A man and a woman have been killed in separate single-vehicle crashes in South East Queensland in a horror 18 hours on southeast roads.

A man has died in a vehicle fire at Beenleigh, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The single-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of Enterprise and Harburg drives just after 10am on Saturday.

Emergency services found the vehicle on fire and a man dead at the scene. Police investigations followed.

It follows another fatal single-vehicle fatal crash at Clagiraba in the Gold Coast hinterland on Friday evening in which a 48-year-old Tallebudgera woman died.

The crash happened about 5pm at the intersection of Beaudesert-Nerang Rd and Clagiraba Rd when a Mitsubishi Triton lost control and rolled.

The driver was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, where she was declared dead.

Two other occupants of the Mitsubishi Triton, believed to be the woman’s husband and 15-year-old daughter, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and police are appealing for dashcam footage.

Meanwhile, multiple others were taken to hospital after a series of crashes on Friday.

A car carrying two men rolled on Gregory Springs Rd, Pentland, in Far North Queensland about 6.15pm.
A man in his 20s suffered serious chest and head injuries and was flown to the Townsville University Hospital in a serious condition.

Another man was treated for a foot injury before being taken to Charters Towers Hospital in a stable condition.

In Capella, another vehicle rolled at the intersection of Bakers Crossing Rd and Malvern Rd about 9.45pm.
Four teenagers, two boys and two girls, were taken to Emerald Hospital, one in a serious condition.

One boy suffered serious shoulder and head injuries and was taken to hospital in a serious condition, while the other boy suffered a cut to his head and remained in a stable condition.

One girl suffered a leg injury and the other back pain, both taken to hospital in stable conditions.

Police investigations remain ongoing.

Meanwhile, a man has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after crashing his motorcycle north of Brisbane on Saturday morning.

Emergency crews raced to the Esk Kilcoy Rd turn off from the D’Aguilar Highway, Woolmar, after the rider came off his bike about 6.50am on Saturday.

The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, suffered serious leg injuries.

Paramedics treated the man before a rescue helicopter flew him to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
