Paramedics are treating five people - one with potentially life threatening injuries - after a multi-vehicle crash blocked the Bruce Highway west of Bundaberg.
A rescue helicopter was called and is now on scene where the collision occurred about 4.15pm on the highway, near the Duckpond Rd intersection.
It is understood it was a possible head-on collision between two vehicles which are now blocking the roadway.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the highway was currently closed in both directions and motorists were being advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to the multi-vehicle crash and were currently on scene treating four stable patients and one with potentially life threatening injuries.
