Red Rooster to join Hungry Jacks in Bundaberg takeaway strip

Another fast food restaurant is opening in Bundaberg and it means another building will have to go.

Plans for the new East Bundaberg Red Rooster, which will include a drive-through.

Bundaberg‘s fastest growing fast food strip will have a new addition, with Red Rooster opening another restaurant in the city.

Plans lodged with Bundaberg Regional Council show the approved eatery will sit beside Hungry Jacks, which opened in 2021.

When the popular burger chain opened, it created 50 new job opportunities for the region.

With the new Red Rooster to be situated at 115-117 Bargara Rd, it makes the strip one of the most recent takeaway food hubs.

Existing buildings on the block will be demolished.

Customers will also have 13 car parks to choose from.

Perhaps the earliest settler on the strip, Domino‘s Pizza, first opened on Bargara Rd in 2016.

But feathers could be flying when it comes to frying the competition - Red Rooster will be located just a few shops down from Bundaberg‘s most recently opened KFC outlet.

The East Bundaberg KFC store opened in 2019, and has remained popular since.

The Red Rooster restaurant will be Bundaberg’s second.

The company did not respond to a request for comment on when the new outlet will open its doors or how many jobs are expected to be created.
