QAS kept busy at crashes around Bundaberg

Ambulance crews had a busy weekend in Bundaberg, attending a vehicle fire, a crash into a shed and a scooter and car crash that left a man hospitalised.

It’s been a busy weekend for ambulance officers in the Bundaberg region, with a number of serious incidents resulting in call-outs.

On Saturday at Avoca, a car crashed into a shed on Michel Lane at 11.34pm.

A man in his 40s had to be taken to hospital with a minor head injury.

Another man had to be taken to hospital not long after, when at 12.02am, a car and e-scooter crashed in the city centre.

A male in his 30s suffered a cut to his head was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition after the scooter he was riding and a car collided on the corner of Targo and Woondooma Sts.

The incident comes as the State Government announced a number of tough new rules around riding e-scooters.

Further in to the early hours of Sunday, at 2.44am, paramedics were called to the scene of a car fire on the Innes Park Esplanade at 2.44am.

No patients were reported on scene.

Meanwhile, in police news, officers are calling for anyone who can come forward with dashcam footage following an incident on Goodwood Road, Doolbi, on October 11.

Police say the incident happened at 5pm and involved a dark coloured grey or green wagon attempting to overtake another vehicle and caused a vehicle to run off the road.

Police are calling for any witnesses or any people who may have dashcam in the area at the time of the incident to contact police.
