Light aircraft crashes at Childers Aerodrome

A man has been rushed to hospital with back injuries after a light aircraft crash in regional Queensland.

A man has been rushed to hospital with back injuries after a light aircraft crash at Childers on Saturday.

Ambulance and fire crews were tasked to the scene in response to the emergency.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man, aged in his 50s, was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition after the crash after being assessed by paramedics.

The crash happened at Childers Aerodrome.

A spokesman from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service said the pilot had been able to self-extricate from the aircraft.

He said one crew had been at the scene to contain a fuel leak from the aircraft.
