Bundaberg emergency services tend to crash at Walkervale

A crash happened in Bundaberg about the same time an explosive fire threatened properties east of town.

It was a busy few hours for emergency services as they tended to a major fire to the east of the city and other incidents around Bundaberg as well.

How family fled from horror blaze

One was a crash which unfolded at 3.50pm on Thursday at the opposite end of town and right at the height of the Kalkie fire that day.

Police were called to reports of a traffic crash on Maryborough and Walker Sts, Walkervale, following a collision.

“Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles, a Skoda Octavia and a Toyota Aurion, that were involved in a collision,” a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said.

“The drivers and passengers of both vehicles were unharmed.”
