Police have confirmed the details of a crash that left a Bundaberg man dead and another in hospital.

Police have confirmed the details of a crash after an elderly man died following a two-car accident in Oakwood, Bundaberg.
In a media release police confirmed a 92-year-old local man who was driving a Honda Civic died at the scene.
“Preliminary inquiries indicate at 11.50am a Honda Civic was headed west on Gin Gin Road when it has turned right into Old Gin Gin Road,” a Queensland Police spokesman said on Thursday morning, May 18.
“A sedan travelling in the opposite direction has collided with the turning vehicle.”
Another person was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition with foot and chest injuries and arm burns.

Bundaberg Police acting inspector Cameron Schneider described the scene as “confronting” and confirmed an elderly man had died.
“These accidents cause devastation to the community, not only the first responders, but the whole community,” inspector Schneider said.
He urged drivers to avoid the fatal five: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, driving tired and distracted driving.

Roads were initially closed at the scene but are now open.
