Local drivers will have a new place to fill up after a service station development was given the green light by council.

A material change of use application was first lodged with Bundaberg Regional Council in May for the service station to be built on Kay McDuff Drive near the Ring Rd.

The proposal document describes the 1.801 hectare site as being “situated at what will be a prominent corner in Thabeban”.

Plans show the service station will include an adjoining cafe with parking for 17 vehicles and four passenger vehicle bowser points under a canopy.

It will also include eight spots at the bowsers with two car queuing spaces, as well as a separate bowser stop for trucks.
