Former premier Steven Miles’ attempt to question Premier David Crisafulli’s work ethic based on his press conference appearances has backfired.
At his own press conference on Sunday, Mr Miles criticised Mr Crisafulli as Queensland’s “laziest premier ever”.
”I don’t remember a premier ever appearing so rarely, and so rarely on weekdays too,” Mr Miles said.
But a subsequent poll of Courier-Mail readers on the subject of “who is the better premier” found 94 per cent of the 2860 votes so far in favour of Mr Crisafulli, with only 6 per cent backing Mr Miles.
And many of the more than 300 comments on the story suggest Mr Miles failed to hit his target, with many readers saying he was using the wrong metric to judge the Premier.
THIS IS WHAT YOU SAID …

– “I don’t really know whether Crisafulli works hard or not but I do know that I don’t quantify hard work by counting the number of media conferences someone does.”
– Peter – “He’s not appearing in the media because he’s too busy fixing the mess Smiles left behind.” – Stephen said.
– “This is just Miles’ desperate attempt to stay relevant and hang on to his Opposition Leader status.” – Live at 5
– I didn’t see any Labor politicians visit my town in the North Queensland in the floods, Albo didn’t even make it, he rather go to a Labor fundraiser. It was great to see the Premier and Opposition Leader turn up.” – Timothy
– “He’s more interested in powerlifting than politics.” – Steve.
– “The election was seven months ago and Miles still can’t work out why he lost.” – Christine
– “I don’t need to see the Premier to know he is getting on with fixing the mess left by Giggles and Queen Anna.” – Joan
– “Yeah right, from someone who prioritises a weightlifting competition?” – Michael.
