The Grammar Art Show has outdone itself, bringing in more than $340,000 worth of sales
The prestigious annual art show brought in $190,000 in sales on the first night alone.
The only way is up for the Grammar Art Show, after it smashed its previous sales record, with $190,000 in artwork finding new homes on opening night alone.
Come midday Sunday, that number had ballooned to more than $340,000 in sales, far eclipsing the previous record of more than $200,000.
The event draws people from all over the country, with flow-on benefits for the city.
“We’re feeling really good,” art show co-ordinator Rebecca Statton said on Saturday.
“We always aim to do better so I’m just really excited that we’ve sold so much.”
A percentage of the money raised through sales goes to the school’s P&F association and from there money goes to the Toowoomba Hospice and to different projects throughout the school.
