What started out as a bit of a ‘rough’ day for one Toowoomba man is looking a lot brighter after winning $200,000.

One lucky Toowoomba man is $200,000 richer after his mega jackpot win.

Purchasing the winning ticket from Campbells News and Casket on Ruthven St, the local scored the guaranteed first prize of $200,000 in the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot.

The news came at the perfect time with the winning ticketholder admitting his day had been a bit ‘rough’ before finding out.

“I literally just checked my ticket and found out I won … I can’t believe it – this has really cheered me up,” the man said.

“The first thought that popped into my head was ‘what the hell am I going to do with $200,000’ – I never thought that would be a question that I’d be thinking about.”

Elated by the big win but still in shock the Toowoomba man said while he let the news really sink in, he plans to spend the afternoon thinking of all the magical ways he could spend the cash.

“I might go on a few little holidays – maybe I will book something this weekend as a bit of a celebration,” he said.

“The rest I will use for my retirement.”

Campbells News and Casket owner Dianne Stevenson said it was amazing news for the local winner.
