Paramedics assessing man in 50s after he was reportedly hit by car in East Toowoomba

Emergency services have been called to East Toowoomba after reports a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle.
It’s understood just before noon a man believed to be in his 50s was struck by the vehicle in the vicinity of Arthur and Mary streets in East Toowoomba.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics assessed the man for a minor head injury and was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
The QAS spokeswoman said the male driver of the vehicle was assessed by paramedics and declined transport to hospital.
Queensland Fire Department are assisting Queensland Police with traffic control in the area.
A QPS spokesman said an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
