5yo son “always involved” in vegan food choices
In the video, which has since amassed over 83,000 views, the British mum explained her son, Abe, eats “abundant and vibrant healthy whole foods”.
In the video, she holds a plate packed with watermelon and avocado on rye toast, sliced into bite-size squares.
“He thrives on a wholefood plant-based diet!” she said.
For lunch, she packed him a vegan Spanish omelette, slices of cucumber and orange, oil-free hummus, dates, and some peanut butter.

Throughout the video, she clarified that Abe is “always involved in his food choices”.
Next up was an after-school snack which included two cups of frozen mango.
He helped his mum make dinner, which was a “super easy pizza”.
“He loves to help in the kitchen,” she said, filming her son spread tomato paste and toppings on the pizza base. “And it helps him accept more variety too!”
Ami said her son ate “three balls of mozzarella whilst cooking” and had a banana as a snack before eating dinner - pizza, broccoli and scrambled tofu.

“Why do people object to kids eating great food?”
The video quickly wracked up comments from angry parents who questioned her son’s eating habits.
“Has he chosen to be vegan or is it a choice you pushed on him?” one person asked. “Will he be allowed to eat meat if he wants when older?”
Some accused the mum of being “controlling” and “grubby”.
“Poor kid!” said another. “He did not choose that diet… it’s you who imposed it on him.”
Others asked if her son has enough access to key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin B12. “Children need more than a plant-based diet,” one concerned person commented.
“My kid would cry,” another interjected.
But others weren’t so quick to judge.
“This looks so lovely and healthy!” one supporter wrote. “I find it so weird that people object to kids eating great food,” added another.
“I am always worried seeing vegan kids, but this was such a delightfully balanced and yummy day of eating,” a person wrote.
